Vancouver Island .. home again

Back home today on Vancouver Island and had a vsit to my "Magic Pond"  
 
The  little jewel of a pond is once again bustling with activity ... The Wood Ducks have returned and of course the Mallards that were hatched there remain.  One young mallard hen posed beautifully for me on a mirror like green  waterway while the Wood Ducks enoyed their afternoon siesta.   Not far away hung one of the largest paper wasp nests I have ever seen.  It must have been a good 14" long!!!
