Last evening I enjoyed a rare treat.. for about 1/2 an hour a family of 5 Northern Flickers explored the yard. I think 2 adults and 3 youngsters. 1st two images show "dad" and a young one behind, and the last 2 (single bird) is one of the young. Size is almost the same as the adult, but the colouration is more muted. The sound these young Flickers make when they are being fed is so hillarious. Sounds like some kind of laughing squeak toy!
Above- A young Oregon Junco enjoys a bit of sun this afternoon!
Below ... These are 2 different Anna's male Hummingbirds .. photos from this afternoon. As I was working on making images of this eagle, I noticed a rather large bug at the lower right of my viewfinder. Look closely and you'll see a Hummingbird saying good morning to the Eagle!
Greetings to everyone who has found their way to my site and this blog. Todays outing was not only productive in terms of photos taken (over 600) but also it was a terrific morning meeting some very nice beach hikers and dog walkers! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to ask questions and chat! It was a pleasure meeting you! I hope to find my way to the same spot on a few mornings this coming week. What a great place! All the best...... Terry Come on over.. The fishing's awesome!!! Osprey goes fishing and then harassed by Ravens!
