Columbian Black-tailed Deer Odocoileus hemionus columbianus

To begin this new page I present papa Red Squirrel.  The small West Coast Squirrel populations here on S Vancouver Island  have been decimated by the introduction of Eastern Grey squirrels and loss of habitat.  "Everyone" in my area seems to delight in chopping down native douglas firs and planting lawns...   I have worked for several decades supporting these tiny kritters and at present time (June 2023) seem to have a thriving population nearby ... (I serve daily...peanuts and sunflower seeds to supplement their regular diet)

My  squirrel baffler feeder does not seem to be effective on the  Gigantus squirrel species!!!    :)))

1 of a pair of new fawns (June 2023) This one got stuck in my back yard for a while but soon figured a way out!
