I have to call this one the "stealth pose" Doing the Ookpik boogie!!! I stood for 2 hours on a mound of snow managing to get quite chilly waiting for the evening flight ..Of course I chose the wrong spot and missed it, but did see her land a block away in this huge Pine tree. It was getting so dark and I was shivering with the chill in me but just before I headed home this evening I noticed the moon rising and walked 1/2 a block , set up in the street below and managed to get this image.. Good Night and God Bless ... TerryV
Here is a sweet group of female Hooded Mergansers rising up to say Happy New Year (or was it .. Hey buddy... Turn up the heat! Happy New Year to everyone ... This 16 slide series is from Dec 30th (my 1 and only encounter with this celebrated Snowy Owl that has been seen in Sidney BC for the past couple weeks) This series was my second sighting of her and took place at 4:06 PM , a few minutes before she flew off hunting.
