Terry :)           Great Blue Heron slide show (below) click "play" to start ...  Female Bufflehead .. She's a total heart stealer! A most beautiful afternoon at Scoter Trail... No wind and with the sunshine felt like a warm spring day! The light (shooting most photos toward the sun's glare) really challenged me and 98% of my shots were poor! The swans were prolific today and my fav image is one of the last taken after I was driving home near dark and had to stop and get a few shots of the feeding Swans!          January 10th .. Another very chilly W Coast day (been a few weeks of winter so far) Most of us living out here aren't use to seeing snow and -2 weather. brrr! Its always amazing to me how songbirds , big and tiny survive the days and nites!      This tiny tiny bird was such a treat to photograph ... Very fast moving and almost elusive, most people just see them as a flicker moving through tree leaves. This guy stopped in the open to give me a chance to take his poortrait! Thank you Ruby Crowned Kinglet!!!    Drake Goldeneye Ducks diving at Pat Bay in N Saanich! A treat to watch them in their black n white tuxedos. :)   A new species for me to observe.. These are Common Scoters (White Wing) and I was surprised and very pleased to see them amongst the Surf Scoters!     |
