Last evening I checked on my eagle & Osprey families.. The late day sunlight gives a beautiful tone to images and it is the second best time of day for photography. (in my mind morning light can be slightly nicer)
But the Eagles seem to be getting to realize I mean them no harm and did pose for me Well I missed most of the action when the Osprey once again confronted the Eagles in a show of force, but clicked a few! Hope you enjoy.. Please click "like" if you do! cheer's Terry :) As I was studying the Osprey a couple of tiny Hummingbirds caught my attention far up alongside an old snag.. They were darting about up there, but why?? If you click on the photo below , look closely and you'll see tiny specs which are bugs that are being consumed as part of a Hummingbird dinner... HummingBugs :)
Thanks to a dear friend who guided me to this beautiful created nest yesterday at Magic Pond! It is the work of a very tiny pair of West Coast birds, called Bushtits. You will see the adults in the 3 images below. These nests are uncommon to see and a marvellous work of natural art! Happy Mother's Day ... Terry
As I quietly sat shooting images of the tiny shorebirds, this pair walked almost right up to me.. In the stillness of the morning neither of us knew the other was there until I turned! Momma Canada Goose is now off "her" nest on the Osprey platform and has 6 shiny new kids! Momma Mallard hatched 5 busy babies! It takes a lot of branches and many trips to build the perfect Osprey nest! Slideshow below of some of the other birds I encountered near the Osprey nest. |
