 Drake Surf Scoter  Hen Surf Scoter in front  Surf Scoter pair seen along Scoter Trail North Saanich today   Surf Scoter eating a late lunch .. Manilla Clam A tiny Ruby Crowned Kinglet led me on a sneak and click expedition.. Finally managed to get a few nice images of this little hopper!!! :D  This big yellow Lab came wading past me as I photographed the Scoters... I fell off my seat as I swung arounf to get this shot!!! :)

 This tiny female Bufflehead is a real heart stealer! First one I have seen here!     fresh clam sushi .. shell and all!!!  Scaup (lesser I think?)  Goldeneye Duck (drake)  Hooded Merganser drake (front) Common Merganser (immature drake)  Todays weather was relatively clear and cold! Never got above zero on my thermometer , and shooting this afternoon in Sidney was hand chilling! :) Hope you enjoy my little parade of ducks .. Wigeon and Bufflehead! (Both species Winter here in good numbers!)   I am very grateful to Sandy for allowing me to decorate the walls & show 13 images in her wonderful Coffee Shop in Sidney for the past 2 weeks! Next up is Sandy's fine works of art.. I can hardly wait to see her latest creations!     Pintails and Wigeon circled overhead of the Swans ...

Sir Annas hummingbird allowed me to approach him and click a few dozen frames while he had a wing stretch.
