My eye caught a familiar bird flying across me and I thought .. A meadowlark? It landed nearby and though well hidden in the leaves the outline and colours made the ID! Pale coloured birds along side grey geese gave me reason to stop again , climb to a vantage point and take some shots. Once again my eyes did not deceive me. Here are a pair of Russian Snow Geese alongside a trio of White Fronted Geese. I wondered to myself ... How far have they traveled together? Shoveler Ducks and some others at that golden time of day ... When the light fades and and beams of jewels dance across the water. 20 minutes after sunset and an Eastern Cottontail (looking for all the world like a cartoon character) slides out from the brambles and remains motionless till the nite sets in. What is the first visible star seen in the South Eastern evening sky???? Well I'll give you a hint .. Its not a star but a planet and 4 of its many moons are visible now using binoculars. If you guessed Jupiter ... yeahhh!!!
