Great Horned Owl shot from this morning through branches This morning I heard a very odd clicking sound out back.. It was not quite familiar to my ears so I looked out into the trees and spotted 2 Ravens. They were vocalizing, hopping about and also making this loud click sound. I grabbed my camera and headed out but they had gone. As I approached the tree where they had been sitting, I saw and heard Robins calling their distress chirps. Suddenly I saw a large dark toned bird fly out and land in another nearby tree. I spotted this Great Horned Owl but only managed a few poor shots through branches before she took off. Later this afternoon , I again heard the Robins and went out looking, only to find this beautiful Owl sitting on a broken branch alongside a large Fir tree. She allowed me a few hasty handheld shots before once again heading for better cover.

Interesting to read about the Robin's sounds because only yesterday I heard of how creatures make various sounds to indicate specific warnings or messages... Only understood by their own species. Oh my, another trail die me to explore... But I love doing it.
