For those of us at the nest site this evening, it will be a breezy night to remember. LittleEagle performed magic sequences for much of the time I visited. The light was very contrasty, but when he flittered in the evening breeze, this creature had us wowed.
After several dances through limbs of the nest tree, LittleEagle sat quietly on the branch with the adopted sibling who has been out of the nest for almost 2 days now. (I was told by one of the kind folks who live on the street that this happened several times today) It was as if he was trying to tell the Eaglet to flap his wings and get back to the nest. I don't think the adult Eagles can feed him where he is, so these may be critical hours. Lets hope the Eaglet follows LittleEagles advice and gets back up where his family has their meals. cheer's from Southern Vancouver Island... TerryV

It was terrific to see all the smiling faces at todays event on the Sidney waterfront! Your kind words and appreciation of my images is music to my ears! Than you ever so much!
I popped in at the nest after packing up this afternoon and was amazed to see the Eaglet who yesterday AM got out of the nest and is sitting several feet below... Is still there. Thats a long ,long hot day without food and water. I'm going over there shortly to catch the evening light, so stay tuned and I will post an image or two later this evening All the very best... TerryV July 2nd , Sidney is having its annual Street Sale .. I was invited to come out and show my images.. So I'll be there from 10 to 4 ... My setup is finally coming together, and I'll will have some newly printed LittleEagle greeting cards and larger images, plus some framed, metal and canvas wildlife images!

(When my rolls of canvas arrive ?? in the next week or so, I hope to be printing LittleEagle images with my new PRO Epson pigment dye printer!!! LittleEagle update , later this evening... All the best.. TerryV This photo is for you Karen Bills! (I also have a video if time permits today) Karen who is the lead spokesperson for the Hancock Wildlife Foundation has taught me so much about Eagles , their habits and behaviour. Todays first image shows the Sidney Eagle nest with a morning event... The most advance Eaglet at some point , hopped out of the nest and now sits below, perhaps 4 meters on a nice solid branch. Thank you, Karen and David (Hancock Wildlife Foundation) for generously giving your time and efforts to the world! What you do is greatly appreciated! All the best TerryV My 1st glimpse of LittleEagle today ... I was watching the young Eaglets and discussing how the creature will get back into the nest with one of the lovely residents on the street, when I heard and saw crows swooping at the other end of the street. I also heard a plaintive cry that sounded more Hawk-Like than LittleEagle, but sure enough.. There He was sitting not far away , gleaming in the morning sun and dodging crows again!
