Common ducks but so animated and colourful!!!
  These photos from Monday ... One of the baby Annas from Nesthaven has fledged.. the other might leave this scenic place today .... Amazing to observe the beautiful tiny birds in their first days!!! Thanks for coming along :)   A pair of male Peacocks were showing off to the ladies yesterday at Beacon Hill Park        The baby hummingbirds are growing like crazy and now basically fill the nest...  Yesterday on a walk near my home I observed a female Annas Hummingbird hunting for insects
After a few minutes she discretely disappeared into a bush ... Seconds later I took a step closer and could barely believe my eyes... There she was sitting on the tiny nest she had constructed!!! This is the very first hummingbird nest I have ever located on my own!   Hummingbirds often choose curious places to nest... (this nest in a friends yard along the main walkway beside the house) Here lays a fresh Annas Hummingbird creation made of assorted natural fibres and spider webs , lovingly made to house these miniature birds for the next few weeks . Currently only a day or two since hatching and about the size of honey bees, eyes still closed and a scant covering of developing feathers that look more like bristles!   After feeding, then adjusting her two tiny offspring Momma Annas settles in to warm them!
